St. Nicholas Day Breakfast slated at St. Patrick’s today

WALLA WALLA — The Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Knights of Columbus host the annual St. Nicholas Day Breakfast, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. today at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Blanchet Hall, 425 W. Alder St. This is a fundraiser, with proceeds going to the Walla Walla mobile dental van. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under age 10.


Community Church to present cantata at First Christian

MILTON-FREEWATER — First Christian Church, 518 S. Main St., will host a cantata, “A Song Was Born At Christmas,” performed by Milton Freewater’s Community Church Choir, at 6 p.m. today.

Unity Church of Peace plans three special holiday services

WALLA WALLA — Unity Church of Peace, 810 C. St., will celebrate with three special services this month.

At 10-11 a.m. today a Hannukah service will be presented by Laurie Manahan. The Horah, a Jewish folk song and dance, will be taught and danced at the end.

At 7 p.m. Friday, there will be a candlelight service, with seasonal songs, stories and the Unity Candle Lighting ceremony. Refreshments will follow.

On Dec. 19, Yule, the Winter Solstice, will be celebrated from 7-9 p.m. with songs and stories from the ancient Celtic celebration.

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Healing Rooms will break for the holidays beginning Dec. 18 and resume prayer for healing at Grace Christian Center, 49 Wallula Ave., Suite A on Jan. 8.

Blue Mountain Community to present Christmas pageant

WALLA WALLA — Blue Mountain Community Church, 928 Sturm Ave., will present the Walla Walla High School drama class in “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 6 p.m. Dec. 16. Admission is a canned food item the food bank. For more information, call 509-529-1212.


Good Samaritan Ministries classes begin in January

WALLA WALLA — Good Samaritan Ministries, 1815 Portland Ave. Suite 2, will offer several classes beginning in January.

On Jan. 3, a class on co-dependency will meet from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursdays for four weeks.

On Jan. 3, a class on “safe people” will meet from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursdays for 12 weeks.

Beginning Jan. 7 and ending Feb. 4, a marriage relationship class will meet Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with a video series, narrated by Mark Gungor entitled “Love, Marriage & Stinking Thinking.” Gungor is a top marriage and family speaker.
