From “Saved by the Bell” to wedding bells.
“Extra!” host Mario Lopez, also known to many as “Slater” from “Saved by the Bell,” recently celebrated his nuptials in Mexico with a Walla Walla twist.
Lopez and his bride, Courtney, reportedly requested Secco Italian Bubbles and Charles Smith Wines & K Vintners to be served at their reception a couple of weeks ago. Eight different wines were featured, according to posts from Charles Smith Wines and “Seattle Met.”
The wedding was featured in the two-hour “Mario & Courtney’s Wedding Fiesta” on TLC last Saturday.
“Seattle Met” reported the menu included Secco bubbles and the Charles Smith Family 2011 ViNO pinot grigio; lobster ravioli and K Vintners 2011 viognier; osso bucco and K Vintners 2009 Stoneridge Vineyard cabernet sauvignon; cake and Kung Fu Girl.
“Lopez is said to have discovered Smith through a mutual friend who is a Hollywood agent,” Julie H. Case wrote. “Yes, all 26 cases of wine for the wedding were provided by Charles Smith — the man does, after all, know a bit about marketing.”
