College Place City Council members are William Jenkins, Alexander Scott, Marge Nyhagen, Bernie Yanke, Mayor Rick Newby, Larry Dickerson, Steve Dickerson and David Beamer. With Scott absent Monday, the board voted as follows:
Planning: Approved interlocal agreement for city’s participation in new bi-state Metropolitan Planning Organization. Estimated annual dues of $3,000 to $3,500 budgeted for 2013. Unanimous.
Cars project: Approved preliminary engineering services agreement with Union Pacific Railroad for reconfiguration and construction of College Avenue-Rose Street railroad crossing as part of the College Avenue-Rose Street Reconstruction Project. Unanimous.
Finances: Approved establishment of employee benefit reserve fund in city budget. Unanimous.
Rezones: Approved rezones for Hillcrest area affecting 76 properties on 17 acres and for Mountain Vista Estates affecting 36 properties on 11 acres. Voted to hold second public hearing on Jan. 14 for rezone of Scenic View area affecting 173 properties on 37 acres. All three rezones are to change designation from R75 — single family residential to R60 — single family residential. Unanimous.
