ATHENA — Weston-McEwen’s girls opened Blue Mountain Conference play with a split this weekend.

The TigerScots dropped their first game of the season on Saturday, a 50-35 decision to visiting Enterprise, after winning at Grant Union, 59-54, on Friday.

W-M is now 6-1 on the year.

Marlene Bodmer led the TigerScots in scoring on Saturday with 14 points. Taylor Rudolph led Weston-McEwen on Friday with 19 points.

“At Grant Union, we jumped on them early, they bounced back, we jumped on them again, they bounced back again, but we held out for the win,” W-M coach Amber Doremus said. “On Saturday, you could tell we didn’t get home until three in the morning. Enterprise is a tough team. They did a good job of doing their thing.”

W-M continues league play Friday at Heppner. They host Elgin on Saturday.
