Dayton School Board

Dayton School District board members are Marchand Hovrud, Steve Martin, Tamara Fritze, David Bailey and Joe Huether. With all present Wednesday, the board:

Donations: Approved donations from Aaron and Dina Bennett and PTSO for ski program and from PTSO for Camp Wooten expenditures.

Superintendent’s Report: Heard reports on bleacher committee, construction management/pre-bond planning, junior high identity team and 8th grade participation in JV basketball at high school level.

Budget Status: Heard budget status report from business manager.

Policy Review: Heard readings of policy updates on board superintendent relations, evaluation of the superintendent, electronic resources and alternative learning experience.

Policy Update: Tabled approval of policy on meeting conduct, order of business and quorum until next meeting.

School Calendar: Approved change to school calendar to include two half-days for students March 28 and 29, with parent/teacher conferences in the afternoons both days. Unanimous.

Construction Manager: Tabled selection of construction manager and pre-bond planning.

JV Basketball: Approved 8th grade participation in High School JV basketball. Unanimous.

Executive Session: Entered into executive session for negotiations.
