After tragedy, it's great to see goodness

Sarah Griffith and I would like to acknowledge the people involved with making the benefit dinner for Nathan Griffith such a success. Nate, his wife and his son were overwhelmed by the generosity of so many involved in providing support for him and his family as he continues to fight lymphoma.

Members of the Milton-Freewater Elks provided the location and lots of enthusiastic help. Several businesses in the community, as well as individuals, made donations to a raffle and silent auction that not only provided some fun and entertainment, but brought in a significant amount of money. The event was very well attended, and so many people stepped forward to help from advertisement to preparation and cleanup.

Donations were provided by many of Nate's friends and family, but some were from people who never even met him, they just knew what he was going through and wanted to help.

After the heartbreaking tragedy back East, it was so wonderful and heartwarming to see the goodness, generosity and thoughtfulness in so many people. May God bless you.
