WALLA WALLA — Hamilton Loomis and his band will be on stage from 7-9:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Sapolil Cellars, 15 E. Main St. The band is touring the release of the artist’s “Live at the Hub.” CD.

A Galveston, Texas, native, Loomis was raised on blues, rock and soul music.

At 16 he played on stage with blues legend Bo Diddley, who became his friend and mentor.

Other Texas blues legends such as Joe Hughes, Johnny Copeland, Gatemouth Brown and Albert Collins also schooled Loomis early on in the finer points of the music.

By the time he was 18, Loomis had performed in front of thousands at the Delta Blues Festival and was writing, arranging and performing his own material.

A series of self-released CDs followed.

Touring since 2001, Loomis takes his music to audiences all over the U.S., Australian and the United Kingdom, recently earning two “Best Artist” awards in England and Wales.

Tickets are $12 online at hamiltonloomis.com/sapolil.htm and will be $15 at the door.
