Benjamin Beliz Jr., 27, 345 N.W. Eighth St., College Place, was sentenced Dec. 24 on one count taking a motor vehicle without permission. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $62 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 90 days in the county jail, credit for 71 days served. On Dec. 18 Beliz pleaded guilty to taking a motor vehicle without the permission of the owner on Oct. 11.
On Dec. 20 the court dismissed a fugitive from justice charge against Jason K. Lock, because the district attorney of Los Angeles County has advised extradition is no longer sought.
Jordan C. Orosco, 15, 333 Grove St., No. 23, was sentenced Dec. 21 on one count fourth-degree assault and two counts violation of a protection/no contact order. The sentence included 40 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 24 days served, 12 months community supervision, 40 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs. On Dec. 27 Orosco pleaded guilty to, under circumstances not amounting to assault in the first-, second-, third-degree or custodial assault, assaulted another on April 16 and knowingly violating a restraint provision of an order for protection on April 23 and April 26.
Jesus Felix Jr., 15, 738 N. Sixth Ave., was sentenced Dec. 21 on one count each third-degree attempted theft and violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act. The sentence included 50 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 36 days served, 12 months community supervision, 30 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs. On Dec. 7 Felix pleaded guilty to, with intent to deprive the owner of the property, attempted to take merchandise from Hastings Entertainment, Inc. on March 21 and to possessing less than 40 grams of marijuana on June 28.
