WALLA WALLA -- A Walla Walla singer will be the opening act for the upcoming production of The Four Tenors at the Power House Theatre.

Candace Brown, a Walla Walla Community College student studying music and theater, will be the opening vocalist for the performance this month. Brown was selected as the first act after open auditions in Walla Walla in January.

The Four Tenors perform Feb. 10-26 at the theater.

Raised in a small town in California, Brown relocated to Walla Walla and has performed over the last five years with numerous choirs, according to an announcement from the theater. She has organized and performed in benefit concerts with Embracing Orphans, an organization that assists with the needs of orphaned, abused and neglected kids of Jamaica. During a summer there she also led a music program.
