ROSALIA - Pomeroy's girls kept it close into the second half, but dropped a Southeast 1B basketball game to Rosalia here Tuesday night, 62-41.

"I am pleased with how hard my girls played tonight," Pirates coach Nettie Severs said. "The score at the end of the game does not indicate how close the game actually was. We were down by 10 early in the second half and came back to tie. Rosalia went on another run and we got down again by nine with about two minutes left and had to start fouling.

"They didn't miss many free throws and we had a couple of turnovers and the game just got away from us," she said.

Haylee Koller led the Pirates with 12 points, with Mackenzie Monahan scoring 11.

Pomeroy, 4-8 in SE1B play and 6-12 overall, hosts Touchet Friday and finish regular season play at St. John-Endicott Saturday.
