WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla General Hospital Diabetes Center support groups meets the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at Adventist Health Medical Group, 1111 S. Second Ave., next to the hospital.
Patients, family members and caregivers are welcome to attend to get information and support on managing and living with diabetes. A diabetes educator will be at each meeting.
Studies show that people with adequate social support networks experience fewer stress-related symptoms and illnesses than those without social support systems. For people living with diabetes, less stress often means better control of blood glucose levels, diabetes experts say.
March 1, tai chi exercises will be the topic of the support group, and April 5, it's using humor as medicine.
