COLLEGE PLACE - Walla Walla Valley Academy will screen an anti-bullying film on Feb. 23 geared to reach young girls.

The film, "Finding Kind," will screen at 6 p.m. in the school's auditorium, and is open to area schools, educators, mental health providers and community leaders.

"Finding Kind" is a documentary created by Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson, founders of the Kind Campaign. The movie gives voice to girls and women sharing their personal experiences with girl-against-girl bullying. The filmmakers include interviews with experts and authors in the fields of psychology, education, and the interrelationships of girls and women. The film's goal is to help girls find common ground of kindness and mutual respect. The free film screening is geared for girls in 5th through 12th grades.

Discussion groups will follow the film's showing, with a focus on talking about how girl-against-girl crime has affected them, and what students can do to effect change in schools and community.
