RICHLAND - Dayton saw a 21-17 halftime lead disappear in the third period here in Friday's Southeast 2B girls' basketball.

Liberty Christian outscored the Bulldogs 13-7 over the third quarter and went to the fourth quarter with a 30-28 lead.

Dayton answered the bell and ran off 19 fourth-quarter points, including ending the game on a 13-0 run, and limited the Patriots to five points. Dayton improved to 4-6 in league with the 47-35 win.

"We had to battle as we didn't shoot well and we let them hang around," Bulldog coach Clayton Strong said. "They had to press and we were able to beat it. It was a physical game and we hit the offensive glass well. We hit 9-of-13 free throws in the second half and that was huge."

Shelby Smith led the Bulldogs with 12 points. McKayla Bickelhaupt added 11 points and pulled down a team-leading nine rebounds, and Courtney Fuller scored eight.

Dayton hosts Tri-Cities prep Tuesday.
