Myrlon Leigh Roloff was born on Aug. 16, 1941, the son of Walter W. and Geraldine (Beamer) Roloff in Walla Walla. Myrlon loved the outdoors and at an early age became an avid elk hunter, shooting his first six-point bull at 10 years of age. He enjoyed golf and told stories of only missing one Sunday in a year to meet with the boys for a friendly game. Myrlon was a high school basketball and football referee for 27 years and decided it was time to retire when the parents began to call him by his first name. He was an active Shriner
Club participant believing strongly in its accomplishments as well as being a 43-year member of the Milton-Freewater Elks BPOE #2146. On Sunday mornings Myrlon would meet with three very close friends to play Pinochle, the winner sometimes going home with as much as 75 cents. He enjoyed NASCAR racing with Jimmie Johnson in the #48 car being his driver of choice, but most of all Myrlon was a strong Oakland Raiders football team supporter, never letting their losing slumps sway his loyalty toward them.
Survivors include his wife, Marty at home; daughters, Lori and Michael Vincent of Kennewick, Shannon and Jim Hall of Portland, Michele Reece of Milton-Freewater; a son, Sean and Barbara Roloff of Milton-Freewater; grandsons, Joseph, Zachery, John Henry and Nicholas Vincent; granddaughter, Kayla Kelly; and great-grandson, Braxton Leigh Lundberg. His parents; son, Corey Roloff; daughter, Shelly Marie Roloff; brother, Gerald Roloff; and a sister, Sandra Emtman all preceded him in death.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Myrlon to the Shriners or the Walt Roloff Scholarship Fund in care of the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862. xx
