Wolves overwhelmed in 82-39 loss to Simpson

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University had three players in double figures as the Red Hawks downed Walla Walla University's women, 82-39, here Monday.

The Wolves were led by Abbey Manzano's 11 points and Johanna Uribe's 10.

Katelynn Taggart grabbed 10 rebounds for WWU.

Charissa Murakami hit three 3-pointers en route to 16 points to lead Simpson.

Nichole Jones scored 15 for the Red Hawks, and Tiffany Aaserude one-upped Murakami with four treys to finish with 14 points.

Simpson outscored the Wolves 48-20 in the first half to roll to the victory.

Walla Walla next travels to Eastern Oregon University Saturday at 7 p.m., and closes out the season Sunday at 6 p.m. at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.
