Philip Russell, 81, of Walla Walla likely died as a result of a snowmobile crash Sunday afternoon according to the Umatilla County Sheriff's Office.
Russell had left his cabin on Bald Mountain Loop Road in Union County, where he and his wife were staying, and was traveling to a shed located on his property.
Russell's wife, Marilyn, discovered his body after she became worried when Russell did not return. Philip Russell died instantly when he was thrown from his snowmobile after hitting a bump, according to Marilyn Russell.
"I walked half a mile to get help," Marilyn Russell said today.
Marilyn Russell, with help from neighbors attempted CPR, and then took Phillip Russell to the intersection of Highway 204 and Jubilee Road, where they met Umatilla County Sheriff's Office deputies.
