WAITSBURG - Waitsburg-Prescott jumped out to a 17-3 lead over visiting Liberty Christian through the first quarter and never looked back as it extended its winning streak to seven games Wednesday night with a 57-41 victory over the Patriots in Southeast 2B boys basketball action.

It was senior night for W-P, and senior forward Zach Bartlow led all scorers with 20 points in the victory. Seniors Eshom Estes, Dustin Wooderchak and Justin Zuger scored four, four and eight points, respectively in their senior sendoff.

After struggling in the first quarter, L-C's Jake Siefken went on a one-man rampage to lessen his team's deficit to just nine points, 27-18, at halftime.

"We played an outstanding first quarter, limiting them to a single 3-point shot the whole quarter," W-P coach T.J. Scott said. "Then in the second quarter, Jake Siefkin scored 13 of his 17 points to help them cut it back to single digits."

In the second half, W-P moved the ball inside, where Bartlow dominated. W-P outscored the Patriots 30-23 over the final half.

Waitsburg-Prescott travels to Tri-Cities Prep Friday at 7:30 p.m., and rounds out the regular season Saturday night at Liberty Christian.
