COLLEGE PLACE - Junior point guard Matt Moore scored a game-high 37 points to lead the Walla Walla Valley Academy Knights to a 79-55 victory over Redwood Adventist Academy in the opening round of the WWVA Friendship Tournament Thursday evening.

WWVA started off on a tear, outscoring the Wildcats 20-10 in the first quarter. Redwood actually outscored WWVA 19-16 in the third quarter, but a 21-8 fourth sealed the victory for the Knights.

"We played tough defense and rebounded the ball well," Knights coach Scott Wagner said. "Redwood played scrappy defense and kept the lead under 20 until late in the fourth."

Senior wing Daniel Lomeland rounded out the Knights in double figures with 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting and three free throws.

The Knights played Milo Academy today at 11:30 a.m.
