Sunderland's 20 leads Dayton boys past DeSales Friday night

DAYTON - Dayton celebrated senior night Friday with a 52-28 victory over DeSales in Southeast 2B boys basketball action.

Dayton took an early lead, ending the first half up 25-12, and continued with Kroft Sunderland contributing a game-high 20 points to lead the Bulldogs to their 19th victory of the season.

Garett Turner, who normally averages in double-digits in scoring, scored just eight points but had a game-high nine assists. Senior Hayden Fullerton added 13 more points for the Bulldogs.

"Defensivley we played well, which led to our offense and our fast breaks," Dayton coach Roy Ramirez said.

DeSales' Luke Fazzari scored seven points while Cameron Richmond threw in six more.

Dayton is 11-1 in the SE2B (19-1 overall) and starts the district playoffs at home against Waitsburg-Prescott Wednesday at 6 p.m.
