Mac-Hi boys fall to Baker

MILTON-FREEWATER - The Mac-Hi Pioneers lost their final game in Greater Oregon boys basketball action Saturday night to Baker, 89-45.

Baker took a 28-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Bulldogs Dave Batchman and Jordan Curtis each scoring 17 points for the game.

Pioneer Saul Ortiz scored 13 points on four 3s and a free throw. Derek Richwine threw in eight more points.

"They used a full court press and we had a hard time handling the pressure," Mac-Hi coach Curtis Carlson said. "We were able to compete there in the end, but didn't start making our shots until the fourth quarter."

The Pioneers ended their season at 0-9 (0-21 overall).
