DAYTON -- Columbia County Commissioners will consider a resolution Wednesday to participate in the Ruckelshaus Voluntary Stewardship Program.

The program is designed to address agricultural practices impacts on critical areas as described in the Growth Management Act in lieu of an update of the county Critical Areas Ordinance.

The county is considering both the Tucannon and Touchet river watersheds in the program.

Written comments, or a request to meet with county staff, may be submitted to the Columbia County Planning Director, 114 S. Second St., or by email at rhendricksen@co.columbia.wa.us. For more information, go to pcc.wsu.edu/projects/caop.html.
