DAYTON - Liberty Christian never caught up with the Dayton Bulldog girls Saturday night and lost, 53-31.

Shelby Smith led the Bulldogs to their third straight victory this season, scoring 12 points.

Malia Frame threw in eight more points, Nicole Lambert seven, with Jessica Tate and Courtney Fuller adding six each.

Frame with seven and Smith with six were the top rebounders.

Dayton turned the ball over 13 times compared to Liberty Christian's 21, although the Patriots only had nine fouls with Dayton racking up 20.

"All 10 girls got to play and everyone played well as a team," said Dayton coach Clayton Strong. "We hurt ourselves by fouling. Half the Liberty Christian points were from the free-throw line, but we kept playing and shared the ball well.

"Only 13 turnovers in a game is a season record. Liberty Christian ran a zone defense, which we are still in the process with the timing with a zone offense, but its the best we passed the ball all season.

"We finished the game off well," Strong said.

Dayton hosts Tekoa-Oakesdale Tuesday at 6 p.m.
