DAYTON - The Dayton boys basketball team picked up a dominating victory Tuesday night, crushing the visiting Tekoa-Oakesdale Nighthawks 79-13, including a 13-0 third-quarter shut out.
Garett Turner led the Bulldogs to the 66-point victory with 18 points on the night.
"The game went well," Dayton coach Roy Ramirez said. "We shot and ran the ball well."
"When we start sharing the ball like that and playing defense the way we do, you know it's going to be a good outcome."
The score could have been more lopsided, but the 40-point mercy rule came into effect with 2:20 remaining in the first half. Dayton took a 50-9 lead into the intermission.
Senior post Kroft Sunderland scored 13-points and pulled down five rebounds. Colton Bickelhaupt had eight of the Bulldogs' 24 assists on the night.
"We prepare for every game the same," Ramirez commented. "We don't take anything lightly, prepare for each game at a time."
Dayton is now 10-0 on the year and travels to DeSales Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
