Lois E. Wagner, Milton-Freewater, passed away Dec. 27, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Home in Milton-Freewater at the age of 85 years. Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m., at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in Milton-Freewater with Pastor Bill Dobos officiating. Private inurnment will be in the Athena Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Aid Center, Walla Walla Community Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. Lois was born April 5, 1926, near Athena, the daughter of Ace J. and Mabel M. Lieuallen Wagner. She grew up in Umapine, and attended Umapine schools, graduating in 1944 from Umapine High School. Lois was an active member of the local 4-H group and over the years, achieved many awards in sewing, cooking, cattle and sheep showmanship. After working for Rogers Canning Company, she furthered here education through Walla Walla Business College and then joined Snyder Crecelius where she remained until her retirement, more than 35 years later. She was an active gardener, an accomplished pianist and enjoyed traveling. She visited many of the national parks and other places of historic interest throughout the United States.
Later she traveled with many tour groups. A member of the Ingle Chapel Congregational Church, she was an active participant in their many activities. Lois devoted much time and care to friends and family over the years. She is survived by numerous cousins, second
cousins as well as close family friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her younger brother, Jimmy.
