Wa-Hi girls down Ike

YAKIMA - The Wa-Hi girls raced out to a 37-12 lead over Eisenhower at halftime Tuesday night and didn't slow down, shooting 43 percent from the field and holding Eisenhower to just 19 percent shooting (11-of-58) in a 60-34 road win over the Cadets.

The Blue Devils' largest lead of the night came in the third quarter when Wa-Hi was up 49-13.

Freshman point guard MiKayla Ferenz led the Blue Devils with 15 points on 3-for-3 3-point shooting. Libby Jimenez was the only other Devil to break double-digits, scoring 14 on 4-of-6 3-pointers. Seven Wa-Hi players scored in all.

The Wa-Hi girls are now 10-3 on the season and 5-0 and in first place in the Columbia Basin Big Nine.

The Blue Devils take on second-place Chiawana Saturday at 5:45 p.m. in Pasco.
