Richard "Rick" Crandall of Waitsburg, passed away at the home of his sister, Robbie (Norm) Skiles on Jan. 11, 2012. He was born in Portland, on Dec. 4, 1957. In 1976, he moved to Longbranch, Wash., with his parents, Lois and Robert Crandall. Rick enjoyed outdoor work in Longbranch and winters in Yuma, Ariz. Recently, he moved to Waitsburg to live with his sister and her husband. He will be remembered for his love of music, his ready handshake and happy greetings wherever he went.

Rick was a member of TOPS #1325 Lakebay, Wash., and attended TOPS #0358 in Yuma. For many years, he attended the Longbranch Community Church and recently attended the First Presbyterian Church of Waitsburg.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Robert. He is survived by his mother, Lois; two sisters, Roberta Skiles (Norman) of Waitsburg and Judith Lawson of Walla Walla and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Waitsburg with the Rev. Bret Moser officiating. There will be a private family interment. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice,
