LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Vote ‘yes' for kids

It has been said that the health of a community can be measured by how well the community supports its schools. I have always been very proud of this community and have had the honor to serve our children and families for the past 26 years.

The support our community provides our schools is inspiring and encouraging. The replacement levy has such a significant impact on the quality education that we are able to provide our students.

The levy supports all of our district's extra-curricular activities: Drama, music, academic enrichment programs, elementary PE, librarians and athletics.

The replacement levy funds over a hundred of our district's classified staff. Their contributions help support the many programs that are offered in each school.

This investment is paid back, as many of our staff live and spend their money in our community to support local businesses.

Our community has demonstrated over the years just how important it is to educate the whole child and to offer programs that allow our students to flourish both academically, artistically and athletically.

Research shows students that are involved in extracurricular programs achieve a higher grade point average. Voting yes for kids is voting yes for our greatest resource, our community's children.
