WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla County commissioners were forced to cut short their meeting today.

Commissioners approved the consent agenda and a resolution to participate in the state Voluntary Stewardship Program, but rescheduled other business until next week, said Connie Vinti, clerk of the board.

The truncated session was due to an emergency in Commissioner Perry Dozier's family. Commissioner Gregg Loney is on vacation and was unavailable to allow a quorum of the board.

Among items to be rescheduled will be a public hearing on amending the county's 2012 Annual Construction Program and an update on changed political boundaries due to the redistricting by the Washington State Redistricting Commission.
