Please join me in voting "yes" for kids on Feb. 14. We all benefit from the availability of good educational opportunities in our town, whether we have children in school or not. Good schools attract quality people to our community and make it easier to maintain the value of our property.
Good schools require good community support.
We have the opportunity on Feb. 14 to continue our financial support of our schools. On the ballot is a replacement levy that would help maintain the current level of teaching and educational programs with approximately the same rate per thousand. The levy helps maintain student programs not funded by state and federal funds.
It impacts nearly all aspects of district programs and services, providing nearly 20 percent of the district's general fund.
We basically help ourselves and our community when we vote "yes" for kids.
