• John T. Schaefer III, 37, 205 Bush St., was sentenced Jan. 17 on one count assault -- violation of protection order. The sentence included restitution of $2,450, $200 in court costs, $62.70 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, $100 domestic violence penalty assessment, 90 days in the county jail, credit for seven days served, 12 months community custody. On Jan. 5 Schaefer pleaded guilty to assaulting a person while a valid protection order was in place, on March 15.

• Mark A. Robison, 31, 1522 E. Alder St., was sentenced Jan. 13 on one count each of second-degree taking a motor vehicle without permission and driving in violation of ignition interlock restriction. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $102.80 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 30 days in the county jail, credit for 30 days served. On Jan. 9 Robison pleaded guilty to unlawfully taking a vehicle that was owned by another without the permission of the owner, and unlawfully operating a vehicle not equipped with a functioning ignition interlock device, on Dec. 15.

• The court dismissed a charge of harassment -- domestic violence against William J. Lewis, 37, Walla Walla, for reason he was convicted of a reduced charge in district court.
