Local Les Schwab Tire Centers will be powering the Walla Walla Sweets' baseball team's 2012 road trips.

The independent tire retailer has partnered with the Sweets to become the team's exclusive tire retailer. The new multi-year relationship was announced this week.

The Sweets log more than 4,500 miles each year on the road traveling to away games in the West Coast League.

As part of the partnership, Les Schwab's brand will be integrated throughout Borleske Stadium and online.

The business will also present the Sweets' Independence Day game and will be the presenting partner of the popular "6 for $36 nights" promotion, which includes six reserved tickets, six hot dogs and six soft drinks for $36.

Furthermore, Les Schwab will present a season ticket-holder with a major prize based on attendance during the season.

"Les Schwab has been a great partner- since the early days, when we ran the team out of a basement," said Sweets General Manager Zachary Fraser in a prepared statement. "We are excited to continue to work with them as a Founding Partner, which allows the Sweets to increase what we offer to fans and helps Les Schwab solidify their position as the leader in tires, brakes, shocks, alignments, and outstanding customer service."

The Sweets, defending 2011 West Coast League East Division champions, will open the 2012 season June 1 against the Corvallis Knights.
