ELGIN - Weston-Ewen's boys basketball team, led by Dallas Reich who shot 6-of-11 from 3-point range and finished with 27 points, defeated the Elgin Huskies, 53-46, in Blue Mountain Conference competition Saturday.
The TigerScots led by 12 at the half, but the Huskies cut the lead to four with a barrage of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. The Huskies had six 3-pointers on the night.
Elgin started fouling with 1:50 left in the game, but the TigerScots made 6-of-7 free throws to hold the lead.
W-M had just eight turnovers on the night.
As a team, W-M had 17 steals and Zane Chapman had five. Ron Terjeson had five blocks.
The TigerScots play again Tuesday at Pilot Rock at 5:30 p.m.
W-M's league record is now 6-1 in BMC play and 11-5 overall.
