WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Community College hit 30-of-60 shots, 50 percent, from the field and had four players in double digits as the Warriors defeated Wenatchee Valley College 78-60 here Saturday afternoon in NWAAC East Region men's basketball action.

"Overall, it was a pretty good game for us," Warrior coach Jeff Reinland said. "It was not easy as it was a hard fought game. It was a little streaky, as we would get up and they would come back. We got the last lead and pretty well hung on."

The Warriors closed the first half on an 11-0 run to take a 31-23 lead to the locker room, and held off the Knights' streaks to pull away to the final 78-60 win.

Jay Payne knocked down 6-of-12 from behind the arc and led the Warriors with 18. Mac Stannard hit for 17, Dallen Bills scored 14 and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, and Dylan Radliff was the fourth Warrior in double-digits as he finished with 12 points.

The Warriors improve to 3-1 in the East and travel to Spokane Wednesday.
