AARP Tax Aide volunteers will provide free assistance with the preparation of 2011 tax returns and electronic filing during the tax season Feb. 1-April 15, said David Frasco, district coordinator for Walla Walla.
"Because of fewer volunteers and the loss of facilities for a walk-in site, assistance will be provided by appointment only," Frasco said in a release.
Appointments may be made at The Center at the Park at 527-3775 or Blue Mountain Action Council at 529-4980.
The Tax-Aide Program is jointly sponsored by The AARP Foundation and the Internal Revenue Service to provide assistance to low-to moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those over 50 years of age.
