WALLA WALLA -- Registration is now open for the Women in Ag conference, an event organizers say will offer "inspirational stories, practical advice on how to improve management skills and networking opportunities with other women entrepreneurs."
Deadline for registration is Feb. 3 by mail or online, said Mary Eagon of the Walla Walla County-WSU Extension office.
The registration fee is $25 and includes a copy of "The Procrastinators Handbook," an opportunity to be listed in the conference brochure to increase networking opportunities and lunch during the event.
The conference will be held on Feb. 11 at the WWCC Water and Environmental Center at Walla Walla Community College.
Keynote speakers will be Lyn Garling, owner of Over the Moon Farm, and Rita Emmett, the author of "The Procrastinator's Handbook." Garling will share about being a "woman farmer" today and how her challenges, inspirations and frustrations have contributed to her success. Emmett will detail how to "Blast Away Procrastination" to be more successful at work, in relationships and in life.
Both speakers will be broadcast to 16 locations throughout the state. Garling and Emmett will be joined by local presenters who will talk about their risks and challenges with farming, including how to stay focused, keep current on market trends, the latest production methods and financial management.
The conference is being sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the WSU Extension and WWCC Water and Environmental Center.
Online registration is available at www.womeninag.wsu.edu. To receive a print brochure in the mail contact Margaret Viebrock at (509) 745-8531 or via email at email@example.com.
