Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo players to play for Sweets

WALLA WALLA - Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo freshmen Colton Haynes and Matt Imhof are headed to Walla Walla to play for the Sweets this summer.

A 2011 graduate of Mission San Jose High School, Imhof was a three-time varsity letterman in baseball. During his senior season, the 6-foot, 5-inch, 230-pound left-handed pitcher compiled a record of 6-4 with a 2.97 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings pitched.

Haynes, the 6-foot 5-inch, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, is a native of Arroyo Grande, Calif., and a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School. As a senior he was 3-2 with a 2.26 ERA, striking out 55 batters in 49.2 innings.

Opening night for the Sweets is June 1 at 7:05 p.m. against the Corvallis Knights.
