First Presbyterian to dramatize Sermon on the Mount today

WALLA WALLA - First Presbyterian Church, 325 S. First Ave. will offer a dramatic presentation of the Sermon on the Mount by Dr. Paul McLain at 10:31 a.m. today. Cast includes congregation and community members.

Children's activities will focus on this teaching. Coffee and cookies are provided before and after the service. Nursery care is available.

St. Basil Academy of Classical Studies benefit slated today

WALLA WALLA - A benefit dinner for St. Basil Academy of Classical Studies will be at 5 p.m. today at Assumption Parish Hall, 2098 E. Alder St.

Walla Walla churches offer free soup lunch four days a week

WALLA WALLA - Three area churches offer a free soup lunch four days each week. The lunches are open to everyone, as follows:

Mondays, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pioneer United Methodist Church, 209 E. Birch St., at the corner of Birch and Colville streets. Enter from the Birch Street parking lot. Information: 509-525-1870.

Unity Church of Peace series looks at variety of mystics

Walla Walla - Unity Church of Peace, 810 C. St., will present Rev. Joy Kachel, speaking on "The Mystics: Spiritual Masters of Love," at 10 a.m. today. For several months, the series will explore ancient and modern Christian, Sufi, Buddhist, and Hindu mystics.

Marriage program planned in Feb. 10-12 in Richland

RICHLAND - Retrouvaille of the Inland Northwest will hold a marriage program to help couples who are in distress Feb. 10-12 at the Red Lion Hotel.

The program includes 12 Post Weekend Sessions over a 6 week period.

Retrouvaille of the Inland Northwest is a nonprofit organization. Presenting teams are unpaid volunteerse who have gone through the program and overcome obstacles in their own marriages.
