WENATCHEE - Junior Tanner Cranor led the Wa-Hi boys with 14 points and 11 rebounds here Saturday night, but the double-double was not enough to prevent the Blue Devils from dropping their fourth straight game.

The hometown Panthers trailed by four entering the fourth quarter, but outscored Wa-Hi 20-10 in the final eight minutes to pull out a 50-44 victory.

Josh Eggers added nine points to the Wa-Hi attack. Rob Ferenz, Spencer Locati and Nick Peasley added seven apiece, and all three collected a 3-point field goal in the contest.

"There was a defensive mistake and two free throws missed," Wa-Hi coach John Golden said of shortcomings his team suffered down the stretch. "We only shot 35 percent during the second half."

The teams played to a 15-all tie after one quarter before the Blue Devils claimed a 26-22 halftime edge.

Each team put up just eight points in the third quarter before the Panthers' game-deciding surge.

Wa-Hi (3-7 CBBN, 7-11 overall) travels to Yakima on Tuesday for a 7:30 tilt with last-place Eisenhower.
