ONTARIO, Ore. - Ontario's girls handed Mac-Hi a 59-16 Greater Oregon League defeat here Saturday night.
Jessica Lang led Ontario with 24 points, with Riley Helmick putting up 12.
The Pioneers were led by Makia Carlson's five points, and Cheyenne Kessler and Caitlin Vaughan scored four apiece.
Mac-Hi committed 29 turnovers in the game.
"We just couldn't get our open shots to fall," Pioneers coach Nicole Christian said. "We are starting to get open looks. Now, hopefully our shots will start falling for us."
La Grande leads the GOL, with Ontario on its heels. Baker and Mac-Hi are battling for the last playoff spot, Christian said, and the Pioneers host the Bulldogs at 4 p.m. Tuesday, and then head to Baker Friday.
"Both teams know the situation they're in and this is a crucial week for our Lady Pioneers to step up to the challenge and get their first league win," Christian said.
