Pomeroy girls split weekend games

OAKESDALE - The Pomeroy Pirates split a pair of Southeast 1B girls basketball games over the weekend.

Pomeroy nipped Garfield-Palouse on Friday, 43-41, behind 22 points from Torrie Koller, and lost Saturday at Tekoa-Oakesdale, 68-42.

The Pirates are now 4-7 in league and 6-11 overall.

"It was a tough game," Pomeroy coach Nettie Severs said of Friday's win. "The girls played really hard. It was a physical game and a great win for us."

Pomeroy plays at Rosalia Tuesday.
