COLTON, Wash. - Colton's girls basketball team has won the state Class 1B championship four out of the last five years.

Touchet had a first-hand look at why Monday night, as the Wildcats handed the Indians a 92-12 Southeast 1B loss.

"They're obviously very, very good," Touchet coach Mike Giusti said of Colton. "It's an intimidating atmosphere, especially for young kids. They (the Wildcats) do this to everybody. But they're a classy outfit. To watch them play would be really fun, if they weren't playing my team."

Haley Moser led Colton with 22 points.

Kristen Warner scored 10 of Touchet's points.

The Indians did hit all six of their free-throw attempts.

Touchet, now 0-12 and 3-15, finish the season at Pomeroy at 6 a.m. Friday and against Tekoa-Oakesdale at home at 5 p.m. Saturday.

"We want to try to hang in there, and I think we are," Giusti said. "We didn't give in. We kept running our stuff. We made all our free throws. We tried some different things differently defensively. Our kids responded pretty well. We're working on fundamentals and it's going to pay off. I hope they keep that belief."
