FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Walla Walla Swim Club took 12 swimmers to the Swim Fort Lauderdale International Classic June 21-24, and had four different swimmers finish in the top 10 of their respective events.

"The kids just swam out of of their minds," said WWSC coach Rob Collins, who is new to the team this year. "We didn't have anybody seeded in the top 10, so they swam pretty well."

Abigail Crowley, 18, placed in three different distances of the backstroke, taking sixth in the 200-meter, sixth in the 50, and eighth in the 100.

Patrick Giedeman swam to top-10 finishes in five different events, taking fourth in the 1500 freestyle, sixth in the 400 individual medley (IM), sixth in the 400 free, seventh in the 200 butterfly and eighth in the 200 back.

Jonathan Klem took eighth in the 400 IM and Russell Skorina ninth in the 50 breaststroke.

The WWSC will be taking 54 swimmers to the Pendleton Invitational swim meet, scheduled for Friday through Sunday in Pendleton.
