LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Schacht impressed, Wolfram did not

With regard to the Aug. 7 election for the Walla Walla County Superior Court, Department 2, judgeship:

The prism of Boy Scouts of America, Troop 305, gave opportunity to watch, learn about and compare the character of both Superior Court retiring judge, Donald Schacht, and of current superior court candidate, Scott Wolfram, member of law firm Minnick-Hayner.

Mr. Schacht impressed me by the amount of time and energy he devoted to the troop in committee as in camp. (If, in the view of some, Mr. Schacht showed a rather cavalier attitude toward the instruction of minors in the use of sidearms.)

Mr. Wolfram struck your correspondent as an unethical, opportunistic bully, less than a man of his word. My recent telephone calls to others who knew Mr. Wolfram through Scouts have supported my impression. (For Mrs. Wolfram's support of Troop 305, there was nothing but high praise.)
