Aug. 5, 1946 - July 5, 2012
Connie Jean Cross Hofer, 65, passed away at her home in Prescott on July 5, 2012.
Connie had many adventures in her life. Connie and her first husband owned and operated a trucking business together in Othello, Wash.
During the Vietnam War, she worked with the famous Flying Tigers. Connie followed her mother to Alaska, where she worked on the pipeline until its completion. Connie and her second husband, John, traveled the United States together and settled in Florida until his death.
She returned to Washington to be closer to her mother. While visiting the Prescott area, she called childhood sweetheart, Jim Hofer, and asked him to dinner. He gladly accepted the invitation and they were married two weeks later. They enjoyed life and each other until her passing. Connie also had a love of horses and flowers.
Connie is survived by her husband, two daughters, three sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her second husband and recently by her mother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Prescott Lions Club through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.herringgroseclose.com.
