PENDLETON -- Tamástslikt Cultural Institute Community Academy Registrar Randall Melton will give a behind-the-scenes basket tour at 6:30 p.m. July 25.
Melton will bring out basket treasures from the collection vault for viewing.
A basketry panel will discuss "The Care and Fostering of Plateau Weaving" at 1 p.m. July 28. Weavers and aficionados will talk about Plateau-style weaving.
Among the panelists, Mary Dodds Schlick, author of "Columbia River Basketry: Gift of the Ancestors, Gift of the Earth" will share her knowledge about what weaving represents in the tribal world.
Pat Courtney-Gold, Wasco-Tlingit, will discuss the state of the weaving world from her vantage point.
