Milton Freewater The annual Logs to Frogs chain saw competition July 21-22 is not just about frogs anymore. The theme for the 2012 contest is "Country Living" and carvings reflecting that will be welcomed.
The contest will be behind Henry's Ace Hardware on Highway 11.
On July 21 the morning carve will be from 8 a.m.-noon. A quick carve will start at 1 p.m. The auction will start 2:45 p.m. and afternoon carve from 3:30-7 p.m.
On July 22 there will be a people's choice balloting from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
The morning carve will begin at 8 a.m. and the quick carve will be 12:30-1:45 p.m.
A panel of judges will choose the top three winners, and quick carve prizes will be awarded both days.
At the end of the three-day event, the People's Choice Award and winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. and the auction of the art will be 3 p.m.
Prizes this year are $1,000 for first place; $700 second place and $350 third place. The quick carve prize is a chain saw and people's choice award is $200.
