Longtime Milton-Freewater resi- dent, Helen Louise Baker, 80, died July 16, 2012, at Walla Walla General Hospital, 1025 S. 2nd Avenue, Walla Walla, Washington.

Helen was born September 16, 1931, in Portland, Oregon to Glenis- ter Warren and Jennie Ruth (Albee) Trussell. She graduated from Portland Union Academy in 1949. Following her graduation, she moved to College Place from Corbett, Oregon to attend
Walla Walla College where she met Jake William Baker. They were married on August 28, 1950, in the Tri-Cities, Washing- ton. She received her licensed practical nursing credentials at Walla Walla Community College in 1973 and did private-duty nursing, retiring in 1997.

Helen's family was of utmost importance to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cro- cheting, needlepoint and being in the mountains. She loved the Columbia Gorge and has enjoyed fishing with her father on the Columbia River.
Helen is survived by three daughters: Janet Terwillegar of Florida; Cheryl Baker of College Place and Cherie Baker of West Richland, Washington; three sons: Harvey Baker of Ala- bama, Steve Baker of Roseburg, Oregon, and Kevin Baker of Wasilla, Alaska; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; and two sisters: Connie Snodderly and Glenna Lee Rogers.

Friends are invited to meet for visitation at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, and leave in procession for the 11:00 a.m. Friday graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery.

The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2012, at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor Steve Wa- likonis will officiate. Arrangements have been entrust- ed to Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
