COLLEGE PLACE -- The College Place School Board will hold a public work session Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to share the latest information and answer questions on plans to rebuild Davis Elementary. The work session will be followed by the board's regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m.
Both meetings are open to the public and will be held in the district's conference room, above the Sager gym, 1755 S. College Ave.
The district is moving forward with plans to rebuild Davis and establish a public high school after the approval in April of a $38.5 million bond proposal.
Designs for Davis Elementary will be available for public viewing and comments during Thursday's session. The district's goal is to open the new Davis school in the fall of 2014.
Meanwhile, the district has secured construction dollars by carrying out the sale of bonds to investors.
On June 12, district representatives, including board Chairman Doug Case, were in Seattle for the sale of the bonds.
The entire package of bonds was sold, at a premium, securing a 3.37 percent interest rate and a favorable rating for the bond from investment firm Moody's, the district announced in a news release.
