Lucile White

Former Walla Wallan Lucile Angell White died in Tempe, Ariz., on June 16, 2012. Born in Walla Walla to Vern and Mable Angell, Lucy went to Green Park School and graduated from Wa-Hi in 1949. She became a member of Delta Gamma at Whitman College. Lucy and former Walla Wallan Harold "Hal" White were married in 1952. Lucy was a fine musician and played in the Walla Walla Symphony from her early teens until she and Hal and daughter Angela moved from the area. At Idaho State University she completed her bachelor's degree and became a teacher. After moving to Tempe, where Hal was a member of the faculty of the Business School at Arizona State University, she studied the harp. Lucy became a harp teacher and was a well known performer throughout the Phoenix area.

She is survived by her husband, Hal; daughter, Angela; grandchildren, Ayn and Hal of Tempe; sister, Sonia Schmitt of Walla Walla.
Lucy was a gentle, loving, talented lady; she is missed.
