WALLA WALLA - A portion of Second Avenue will be limited to one-lane of traffic, slowing flow Monday and Tuesday with minor delays for construction, the city said.
From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, traffic flow will be altered for construction taking place at the intersection of Second and Stahl avenues. Flaggers will assist motorists.
No full road closures are expected during that time. The construction is part of the ongoing Infrastructure Repair and Replacement Plan, the strategy for water and sewer system replacement that also incorporates street surface replacement and maintenance.
This particular project is linked to the phase that covers Third Avenue between Stahl and Birch Street and Stahl between Third and Second.
Premier Excavation is the contractor on the phase, running $570,570.74. Construction started late in May, according to the city. The work is expected to be complete by the end of September.
